What worked:
Patrick Cantlay: We don’t typically target the previous year’s winner as the Draftkings algorithm tends to price them out of value due to its heavy weighting on course history but that didn’t seem to be the case this year as Cantlay was reasonably priced and came into town showing strong recent form. Although he flew just shy of forcing a playoff with Bryson, his strong play leading to a 2nd place finish did more than enough to pay off his price tag as one of our high-end cash game plays.
What didn’t work:
We strive for perfection and always like to look back on some of the predictions that didn’t materialize:
Austin Cook: A poor ball striking week and putting week from a player that profiles well on a course that requires a precision wedge game cost us a 6/6 through the cut but having 3 players in the top ten still helped lead us to a positive week.
