What worked:

Cam Newton
– We rostered Cam for his bargain price and high floor as most of the Carolina offense continues to flow through him. Though Christian McCaffery has shown some slight improvements in his between the tackles rushing, Cam is still the best goal line option on the team and was able to prove it by adding another rushing TD this week.

Alvin Kamara – Due to the tight pricing on DK this week, we had to choose between Gurley and Kamara for our RB1. With Mark Ingram out the Saints have been leaning significantly on Kamara to handle all backfield duties. A high pass game involvement against a Falcons team that struggles against pass catching backs along with his only meaningful usage competition coming from Michael Thomas helped make the Kamara selection clear.

Will Fuller – A matchup against the Giants D-line that is slow to generate pressure against QB’s allowed Deshaun Watson enough time to find Fuller on the downfield routes he likes to run. A TD and hitting the 100 yard bonus validated our call.

What didn’t work:
Although we had a winning week, we strive for perfection and always like to take a look back on some of the predictions that didn’t materialize:

Eric Ebron: We selected Ebron due to the increased volume projected with Jack Doyle out as since the return of Andrew Luck the Colts have been attack opposing defenses primarily through short passes, where tight ends tend to feast. We were correct in our prediction of volume as Ebron saw 11 targets however he was only able to convert 5 to catches. Going forward we would roster him again in the same situation as betting on volume, especially with pass catchers, has been profitable for us over time.
